Logo Design & Branding Elements

James at Obsidian Cartography needed a logo to represent the work he does compiling a combination of satelline imagery and GIS data points taken to produce the most accurate projections of volcano topography.

James wanted a logo that would appeal to people of all ages who enjoy New Zealand’s great walks, specifically those exploring Tongariro National Park. Eventually, James plan to map volcanoes all over the world with this technique producing some of the most accurate maps of famous volcaoes ever.

This option was designed for where the logomark isn’t needed. I’ve added a small map pin in the word ‘cartography’ as a nod to the missing pin. I think it works quite well.
