Trikona Photography - Logo Design
Kartik wanted a logo he could use as a watermark on his photographs and came to me with a name and a tagline. Trikoṇa in Sanskrit means “Triangle” which also relates in this case to the Photography Triangle (ISO, F Stop and Shutter Speed).
From a spiritual aspect, the two triangles coming together to create a 6-sided start represents the Deity Shiva and Shakti (husband and wife) and the coming together of the masculine and feminine energies. Together they create all life around us and provides the main inspiration for Kartik’s photoraphy work.
Primary Logo
The six-sided start was the the easy task. Layering shapes to give the overal mark some nuiance to represent the complexities of life while also creating an open end in the waterfall to suggest the movement of energy into the unknown were all fine tuned the further we moved through this project.
Alternate Logo
We played with a coupe different layouts with and without the tagline but the words “moments in life” were important to Kartik as a way of grounding him in the present no matter what was happening around him. From the stars above to everything around us, this nature inspired mark is a reminder that the world outside our own little spheres is much, much bigger.
Social Logos
To simplify the mark further, I focues on singling out the tree as a way to represent Kartik as he stands amongst the stars, reflecting on his place in the universe and as a metaphor for us all really.
